TENORE E CUNCORDU DE OROSEI

Tenore e Cuncordu de Orosei: Founded 1978, the members are Martino Corimbi, Salvatore Dessena, Gianluca Frau, Tore Mula, Patrizio Mura, Franco Sannai, Mario Siotto und Piero Pala.
Their only aim is that of preserving the canti as faithfully as possible to the canons of the Orosein canto tradition. With commitment and perseverance, alongside the older choristers, they begin a journey of study and research into the canti from the Orosei tradition thus making a significant contribution to the appreciation and preservation of the entire musical repertoire.
In August 1997, the group changes its name to Tenore e Cuncordu de Orosei, and it adds Piero Pala, voche and mesuvoche to the group, an indication of the continuity and enthusiasm for the goals that the future will never be able to erase.
»The choral music of Sardinia offers a fascinating glimpse back into history, a possible direct line to musical practises long lost in other parts of Europe«, The Wire writes about the releases of Tenore e Cuncordu de Orosei and goes on: »Timbre is everything in this music - every chord glows with resonance like a stained glass window in sunlight. This is world-class harmony singing. [...] These stunning performances were recorded in a Sardinian cathedral with great skill by engineer Adrian von Ripka. All the vocal detail is clear and perfectly positioned in the big acoustic. They even come classily packaged in corrugated cardboard; the Munich-based Winter & Winter label have done us proud«.
